Mostafa Asal has climbed to World No.3 in the latest Men’s World Rankings issued by the Professional Squash Association (PSA).

The rise of two ranking places, follows his impressive run to the final of the 2023 Ace Malaysia Squash Cup last week. The former World No.1, participated in his second event of the season and, though he gave his all, ultimately yielded to Karim Abdel Gawad in the title match. Prior to his runner-up finish, Mostafa Asal secured victories over Ryunosuke Tsukue, Saurav Ghosal and Ramit Tandon.

Mostafa Asal had briefly lost his World No.3 ranking back in mid-October and has reestablished himself ion the top three by surpassing Paul Coll and Mohamed ElShorbagy.

Karim Abdel Gawad, on the other hand, remains steadfast at World No.6, despite his triumph in Malaysia, but he is now within striking distance of the top five players.

Iker Pajares Bernabeu, the Spanish No.1, has earned a well-deserved reward for his recent triumph at the Open International Niort Venise Verte, with his win over fellow UNSQUASHABLE player Rory Stewart propelling him from 21st to 19th in the latest PSA Men’s World Rankings.
