Squash world mourns the tragic death of Rodolfo Vega
The Professional Squash Association (PSA) have announced that 28-year-old Mexican squash player Rodolfo Vega has tragically lost his life in a motorbike accident, leaving the squash community in shock.

Rodolfo Vega, who achieved a career-high PSA World Ranking of World No. 224 in March of this year, first graced the PSA stage in 2018. Demonstrating his prowess, he clinched victories in two tournaments on the WSF & PSA Satellite Tour: the Vega's Squash Open in February 2023 and the San Martin Squash Cup in March 2023, both of which took place in his homeland.

Having participated in 27 PSA World Tour events, Vega emerged triumphant in 12 matches, showcasing his consistency and skill. His recent notable performance saw him progress to the final of the PSA Open Aragon.

Expressing his condolences, PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough shared, “It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Rodolfo Vega. “Rodolfo was a talented player who had been playing some of the best squash of his career in 2023, winning multiple titles in Mexico and enjoying a career-high ranking just a few short months ago.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to Rodolfo’s family and friends at this difficult time,” added the PSA Chief Executive.
