Elliot Morris Devred wins Internazionali D’Italia to win maiden PSA title

Welshman Elliot Morris Devred claimed his maiden PSA title at the Internazionali D’Italia in spectacular style, defeating three of the tournament’s top four seeds including a dramatic 6-11 13-11 11-4 8-11 12-10 victory over Austrian No.1 Aqeel Rehman in a tense final at Rende, Italy.
Seeded 15, Elliott defeated Marc Lopez of Spain 11-5 11-8 9-11 11-5 in his opening match, followed by an 11-4 5-11 6-11 11-7 11-9 victory over Marc ter Sluis of the Netherlands in the 2nd round.
The quarter-finals saw the young Welshman beat 2nd seed Yannik Omlor of Germany 11-6 13-11 11-7 before a tense 13-15 11-3 11-9 10-12 11-6 semi-final victory over Italian No.1 Yuri Farnetti in the semi-finals.
