Nick Wall reaches 3rd round of PSA Paris Squash 2023

Impressive wins by England’s Nick Wall over Nathan Lake and Omar Mosaad in the first two rounds of the Paris Squash 2023 saw him up against World No.2 Diego Elias of Peru for a place in the quarter-finals of his opening PSA World Tour event of the new season.

Despite another impressive showing, Nick faced a formidable opponent at the top of his form who secured the quarter-final spot with a 40-minute 11-5 11-4 11-6 victory.

In the opening game, both players demonstrated remarkable precision and finesse. Although Elias ultimately emerged as the dominant force, Wall showed his own skills, engaging in many competitive exchanges, before Elias successfully converted a game ball on his first attempt.

The second game witnessed the World No.2 amassing an impressive six game balls, however his English opponent, undeterred by the pressure, continued to display admirable resilience. Elias eventually capitalised on his advantage with his signature efficiency to establish a commanding two-game lead.

Positioned on the brink of potentially regaining his World No.1 ranking in the forthcoming week, Elias continued to demonstrate remarkable agility and fluid movement as the match progressed which proved decisive in seizing control and ultimately securing the match.

Nick Wall will face World No.2 Diego Elias of Peru in the 3rd round of the Paris Squash 2023 following a hard-fought 50 minute 11-6 11-7 18-16 victory over former World No.3 Omar Mosaad of Egypt at the Stade Francais in the French capital.

Fellow #teamunsquashable players Iker Pajares Bernabeu & George Parker were denied places in the 3rd round by Auguste Dussourd of France & Welsh No.1 Joel Makin respectively.

Spanish No.1 Iker Pajares Bernabeu, Nick Wall & George Parker all progressed into the 2nd round of the Paris Squash 2023 after an action packed opening day spread across four distinguished venues throughout the French capital.

Iker Pajares Bernabeu claimed the first victory for UNSQUASHABLE with a hard-fought 8-11 11-6 13-11 11-5 victory over the talented Indian Ramit Tandon at the Sportive du Jeu de Paume, where earlier Todd Harrity of the USA had fallen to Scottish No.1 Greg Lobban in straight games.

At the Stade Francais, Nick Wall came from a game down to defeat fellow Englishman Nathan Lake 2-11 11-4 11-3 11-7 in 41 minutes, after Lucas Serme had earlier produced a monumental 78-minute effort at the same venue before succumbing 9-11 11-9 13-11 7-11 11-7 to compatriot Sebastien Bonmalais.

Rory Stewart was unable to deny Gregoire Marche from claiming victory in front of his home crowd on the stunning all-glass show at the purpose-built venue located at the Parvis du Palais de Tokyo, however George Parker progressed to the 2nd round after overcoming Dimitri Steinmann 13-11 11-6 11-8 in an injury interrupted 73-minute contest.
