Iván Pérez successfully defends PSA Cognac Open title
Top seed Iván Pérez of Spain successfully defended his PSA Cognac Squash Open title with an accomplished 59-minute 11-8 11-6 11-7 victory over Abdallah Elmasry of Egypt at the Squash La Belle Allée in France to claim his fourth PSA World Tour title.

Despite the straight games victory, Pérez was tested by the surprise Egyptian finalist throughout the 59-minute contest having showed great skill & stamina to reach the final.

In his opening match, the young Spaniard defeated Lowie Delbeke of Belgium 11-9 11-9 8-11 11-8 in 48 minutes. In a 62-minute quarter-final, Iván overcame 5th seed Mohamed Nasser of Egypt 9-11 11-7 11-6 11-6 & in the semi-finals overcame Germany’s Valentin Rapp in a huge 91 minutes – eventually winning 9-11 4-11 11-9 11-9 13-11.
