Moustafa Elsirty wins PSA CIB Egyptian Squash Tour Challenger

Moustafa Elsirty collected an astonishing 9th Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour title since joining #teamunsquashable in January after overcoming fellow Egyptian Zahed Salem in the final of the PSA CIB Egyptian Squash Challenger staged at Smouha Sporting Club in Alexandria, Egypt.

Seeded only No.7, Moustafa Elsirty, now at his highest ever position of World No.38 in the PSA World Rankings, continued his remarkable run of form to reach his 10th PSA World Tour final of the year with an 11-13 11-3 15-13 11-8 semi-final victory over fellow Egyptian Shehab Essam.

Moving straight through to the second round coutesy of a 1st round bye, Moustafa Elsirty defeated Abdalah El Masry 11-6 11-6 8-11 13-11 in his opening match of the event.

In the last eight, he took down the tournament’s top seed, Colombia’s Miguel Rodriguez, after a lengthy 79-minute, four-game duel, in which Moustafa Elsirty took the fourth game on a tie-break 15-13.

The Egyptian then got the better of compatriot Shehab Essam in the semi-finals, to set up a final with No.4 seed Zahed Salem. Moustafa Elsirty took the first game on a tie-break, but quickly found himself 2-1 down. However, in the early part of the fourth game, Salem was forced to retire, giving Moustafa Elsirty his ninth PSA World Tour title of an incredible year.

Since joining UNSQUASHABLE in January, Moustafa has proven himself to be the most successful player on the PSA World Tour, winning an astonishing ninth PSA World Tour titles & rising to a career-high No.38 in the latest PSA World Rankings.
