Friends for life … legendary singer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Eddy Grant proudly displays the UNSQUASHABLE racket presented to him by his friend Jahangir Khan in 1983 which the squash legend used to beat Gamal Awad of Egypt 9-2 9-5 9-1 in the final of the Davies & Tate British Open Championships at the Derby Assembly Rooms to win the second of his record-breaking 10 British Open titles.
The gift exchange between Eddy Grant & Jahangir Khan occured in 1983 in the middle of Jahangir Khan's record breaking 555 consecutive victories over 5 years and 8 months when Jahangir took time-out from his busy playing & training schedule to play his friend, the legendary singer, songwriter & multi-instrumentalist.
Jahangir presented his friend with the UNSQUASHABLE racket that he used to beat Gamal Awad of Egypt 9-2 9-5 9-1 in the final of the Davies & Tate British Open Championships at the Derby Assembly Rooms to win the second of his record-breaking 10 British Open titles.
In return, Eddy presented Jahangir with the Gold Award for his ‘Killer On The Rampage’ album, his most successful album which featured his best-selling hits ‘Electric Avenue’, ‘I Don't Wanna Dance’ & ‘War Party’, going on to be top 10 album in the UK & US.
