ANASTASIIA KOSTIUKOVA
Ukraine No.1 & 3-time Ukraine National Champion
Winner of 6 Professional Squash Association (PSA) titles
Represented Ukraine at the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, USA (2022)
Born in Odessa, Anastasiia Kostiukova was a former four-time BMX Ukrainian National Champion before moving to Kyiv in 2015 to pursue a career on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour.
Having represented Ukraine in four consecutive European Team Championships, Anastasiia was selected to represent Ukraine at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama, USA where she finished 17th, the highest position of any Ukrainian squash player, after recorded her country’s first ever squash win at The World Games by beating Hungary’s Hannah Chinyere Chukwu.
“It is a great honour for me to represent my country at The World Games,” said Anastasiia Kostiukova afterwards. “Birmingham welcomed us very hospitably; there are wonderful people and a wonderful atmosphere. My thanks to our Federation, the World Squash Federation, and our Ministry of Sports for making this possible.
“I adapted to the second match and was able to show a decent game. It was my revenge, because the last time that played Hannah, I lost 3-1 to her. I am proud to be Ukrainian and it is an honour for me to represent my country and I am glad that, in this difficult time, I was able to bring the first victory in squash to Ukraine at the World Games!”
Anastasiia started 2023 by winning his third Ukraine National title in empathic style with a succession of straight-game victories in Kyiv culminating with a 20-minute 11-5 11-4 11-2 victory over Milena Velichko in final.
