Owain Taylors Wins 2026 Victorian Open

UNSQUASHABLE player Owain Taylor continued his outstanding run of form by capturing the 2026 PSA Victorian Squash Open title at Mulgrave Country Club in Melbourne, Australia, completing an impressive hat-trick of consecutive PSA World Tour titles.

Having already lifted the PSA City of Devonport Tasmanian Squash Open and PSA Eastside Squash Open trophies in recent weeks, the Welshman extended his winning streak with another superb series of performances, underlining his growing confidence and consistency on the international circuit.

Seeded second for the tournament, Owain received a first-round bye before opening his campaign with a composed victory over Australia's Oscar Curtis. Displaying his trademark accuracy and intelligent shot selection, he controlled much of the contest before overcoming a brief third-game setback to secure an 11-6 11-4 3-11 11-3 victory in 47 minutes.

The quarter-finals presented another stern examination against Egypt's Omar Helmy. After dropping the opening game, Owain responded in impressive fashion, raising both the tempo and quality of his squash to dominate the remainder of the match. Accurate length, disciplined movement and relentless pressure enabled the UNSQUASHABLE player to record a convincing 7-11 11-5 11-6 11-6 success after 57 minutes.

Owain carried that momentum into the semi-finals, where he faced Canada's Karim Aguib Michael for the third consecutive tournament. Having previously defeated the Canadian in the finals of both Tasmanian events, the Welshman once again produced a clinical display. Controlling the rallies from the outset and denying his opponent any opportunity to settle, Owain progressed with an accomplished 11-5 11-9 11-8 victory in 46 minutes.

The final saw Owain take on home favourite and top seed Dylan Molinaro in front of the Australian crowd. Molinaro made the stronger start to claim the opening game, but the Welshman responded with the composure and determination that have characterised his recent success.

Owain immediately wrestled back control of the contest, dictating play through exceptional court coverage, precise length and well-timed attacking winners. His dominance became increasingly evident as he swept through the next three games, allowing the Australian little opportunity to recover. The 8-11 11-3 11-2 11-5 victory after 50 minutes secured yet another PSA World Tour title and completed a remarkable three-tournament winning streak.

Winning three consecutive PSA titles is a significant milestone in Owain's professional career and reflects the impressive progress he has made over recent months. Throughout the Australian swing, he consistently demonstrated the qualities required to succeed at the highest level, combining tactical intelligence, physical resilience and unwavering composure under pressure.

The latest triumph also delivers another valuable haul of PSA World Ranking points and with three trophies collected in successive tournaments, the UNSQUASHABLE player leaves Australia full of confidence and carrying considerable momentum into the next stage of the season.
