Lwamba Chileshe runner-up at PSA Victoria Squash Open in Australia
Lwamba Chileshe reached his first PSA World Tour final outside of his native New Zealand at the PSA Victoria Squash Open in Melbourne, Australia but was denied his maiden ‘overseas’ title by Rex Hedrick at the Mulgrave Country Club.

Former World No.48 Rex Hedrick of Australia rolled back the years to claim a second title of the season & the 18th PSA World Tour title of his career with a 42-minute 11-6 11-4 11-2 victory over the top seeded New Zealander.

Lwamba Chileshe, competing in Melbourne alongside his second-seeded brother Temwa, overcame Andes Ling of Hong Kong 11-7 6-11 7-11 11-4 11-7 in his opening match before beating Tomotaka Endo of Japan 11-4 11-9 11-9 with a more confident quarter-final performance. In the semi-finals, Lwamba Chileshe beat 5th seed Bryan Lim Tze Kang of Malaysia 10-12 11-8 11-2 11-4.

Fellow #teamunsquashable player Temwa Chileshe was beaten by the eventual champion in the semi-finals after earlier wins over Australian David Turner & Ho Ka Hei of Hong Kong.
