Moustafa Elsirty finshes runner-up in FISU World University Squash Championships

Moustafa Elsirty had to settle for being runner-up in the 2022 FISU World University Squash Championships after top seed & World No.3 Mostafa Asal produced an 11-5 11-7 11-8 victory in the final staged at the Nolet Tennis & Squash Club in New Giza, Egypt.

Moustafa El Sirty of Egypt will today face compatriot & top seed Mostafa Asal in the final of the 2022 FISU World University Squash Championships being staged in New Giza, Egypt.

To reach today’s final, Moustafa Elsirty had to overcome a battling performance from #fellowunsquashable player Yannick Wilhelmi of Switzerland in the semi-finals, with the 2nd seeded Egyptian eventually prevailing 2-11 11-9 7-11 11-2 11-7.

Moustafa Elsirty of Egypt will face fellow #teamunsquashable player Yannick Wilhelmi from Switzerland in the semi-finals of the 2022 FISU World University Squash Championships taking place in Cairo.

2nd seed Moustafa Elsirty defeated Filip Jarota of Poland 13-11 11-3 11-6 in his opening match before another impressive 11-8 11-8 11-2 quarter-final win over David Zeman of the Czech Republic.

Yannick Wilhelmi reached the semi-finals after overcoming Joshua-Jacques Phinera 11-8 10-12 11-6 11-5 in his opening match followed by an 11-6 11-6 11-5 win in the quarter-finals over Yat Long Chung of Hong Kong.

The 2022 FISU World University Championships are being staged at the Nolet Tennis & Squash Club in Cairo from 7th to 10th November, featuring 49 players from 13 countries.
