Rory Stewart was denied a place in the semi-finals of the PSA Open International Niort Venise Verte by top seed Baptiste Masotti of France who overcame the 6th seed 11-9 11-3 11-4 at the Squash du Marais in Niort.

Rory Stewart of Scotland was forced to battle hard before progressing to the quarter-finals of the PSA Open International Niort Venise Verte in France with an increasingly tense 89-minute 7-11 11-7 11-13 11-9 13-11 victory over Tom Walsh of England.

Italian No.1 Yuri Farneti defeated Robert Downer 4-11 11-6 11-9 4-11 11-4 to progress to the 2nd round of the PSA Open International Niort Venise Verte being staged at Squash du Marais in Niort, France.

The 7-time Italian Champion fought hard to secure a memorable 66-minuite victory over the higher seeded Englishman who he defeated last month in the final of the PSA Haaksbergen Open in the Netherlands to claim his 17th PSA title.
