Sam Gerrits reaches semi-finals of 2025 PSA Hinckley Squash Open Challenger

UNSQUASHABLE player Sam Gerrits of the Netherlands reached the semi-finals of the 2025 PSA Men's Hinckley Squash Open Challenger held at Hinckley Squash & Racketball Club in England from the 21st to 25th May.

The young Dutch player beat Wild Card Alistair Mutch of Wales 11-5 11-6 11-3 in 21 minutes in his opening match - the first of two wild card players that the Dutchman defeated in the draw enroute to the semi-finals.

The 2nd round saw Sam beat 7th seed Czech Martin Štěpán 11-5 12-10 11-2 in 31 minutes before overcoming Wild Card James Averill of England 11-8 7-11 11-6 11-13 11-5 in a 63 minute quarter-final.

Despite another impressive performance in the semi-finals, Sam was eventually denied a place in the final by eventual champion Denis Gilevskiy of Ireland who prevailed 11-9 11-7 11-4 in 30 minutes, having beaten another UNSQUASHABLE player Will Salter in the 2nd round.
