Stuart MacGregor runner-up at PSA Schräglage Squash Open in Germany

Stuart MacGregor reached his fourth PSA World Tour final at the PSA Schräglage Squash Open but was eventually denied in the final by Austrian No.1 Aqeel Rehman who secured a hard-fought 48-minute 11-9 11-7 9-11 11-5 win on the glass-court at the Pink Power Club in Böblingen, Stuttgart, Germany.
The 8th seeded Englishman started his title campaign with an 11-5 11-3 11-3 win over German Wild Card Fabian Igelbrink, followed by a more challenging 44-minute 11-6 11-4 9-11 11-5 victory over Ondrej Vorlicek of the Czech Republic in the 2nd round.
Stuart MacGregor produced a confident quarter-final performance to defeat 4th seed Robin Gadola of Switzerland 11-6 11-5 12-10, before overcoming top seed Yassin Elshafei of Egypt 3-11 11-6 11-7 11-9 in the semi-finals to secure a place in his fourth PSA World Tour final.
Fellow #teamunsquashable player Elliott Morris Devred of Wales registered a clinic 13-11 11-5 11-4 victory over Lukas Windischberger of Austria in his opening match and produced the major upset of the second day with a four-game victory over 7th seed Joeri Hapers of Belgium. Elliott Morris Devred, ranked at World No.163, 30 places below the Belgian No.1 in the PSA World Rankings, dropped the first game of their 2nd round encounter, but fought back to win the match with a 14-12 fourth game tie-break.
Unfortunately, Elliott Morris Devred contracted food poisoning on the eve of his quarter-final match & was unable to mount a sustained challenge against top seed Yassin Elshafei.
