Ronald Palomino Wins 2025 PSA Costa Rica Open
November 15 2025
UNSQUASHABLE player Ronald Palomino successfully defended his PSA SACC Costa Rica Squash Open title with a composed and authoritative victory over Egypt’s Mohamed Sharaf in the final at the Santa Ana Country Club in Santa Ana, Costa Rica.
The Colombian, seeded No.2, capped a superb week by defeating the No.4 seed 11-9 14-12 11-4 in 43 minutes, demonstrating the tactical intelligence and physical intensity that have become hallmarks of his game to capture his ninth PSA career title. The opening two games were tightly contested, with Ronald showing resilience to edge the crucial second game 14-12 - a momentum-shifting moment that effectively broke his opponent’s resistance.
With the pressure eased, Ronald surged through the third game in dominant fashion, controlling the middle of the court and applying relentless pressure to close out the match and retain the title he won last season.
Ronald powered into the final with a series of equally dominant performances. After enjoying a first-round bye, the defending champion opened his campaign in commanding fashion, sweeping past Mexico’s Jorge Gómez Domínguez 11-5 11-3 11-4 in just 24 minutes. Ronald’s precision hitting and fast-paced control set the tone for a confident run through the draw, with the UNSQUASHABLE player barely allowing his opponent time to settle.
In the quarter-finals, Ronald withstood a spirited challenge from Guatemala’s Alejandro Enríquez, winning 11-4 11-5 3-11 11-5 in 57 minutes. After dropping the third game, the young Colombian responded with impressive composposure, tightening his lines and reasserting his authority to close out the match with clinical efficiency.
Ronald then produced his most polished display of the week in the semi-finals, dispatching another Guatemalan, Josué Enríquez, 11-4 11-6 11-5 in 30 minutes. Controlling the middle of the court throughout, the Colombian’s athleticism and accuracy proved simply too strong, securing his place in the final without ever looking troubled.
His progression to the title decider and his victory in the final highlighted both his growing consistency and his ability to dictate matches from the outset - qualities that have defined his rise on the PSA World Squash Tour this season.
His latest triumph marks a significant milestone in what has been an increasingly impressive campaign for the 26-year-old. His performance throughout the tournament, built on precision, athleticism and unwavering focus, underlines why he remains one of the most consistent and dangerous players outside the very top bracket of the PSA World Tour.
By lifting his ninth career title, and doing so in such convincing style, Ronald Palomino further reinforces his status as a rising force in international squash and a key figure in the UNSQUASHABLE player stable.
