Nick Wall beats top seed to reach semi-finals of 2024 PSA London Squash Open

UNSQUASHABLE player Nick Wall of England was denied a place in the in the final of the 2024 London Squash Open by compatriot Simon Herbert at the Cumberland Squash Club in the UK.
The young Englishman was unable to build upon his impressive quarter-final form where he defeated top seed Auguste Dussourd of France, with Simon Herbert, who overcame fellow UNSQUASHABLE player Rory Stewart in the quarter-finals, closing-out a straight-game semi-final win on 24 minutes.
Nick Wall defeated Auguste Dussourd 2-11 11-9 11-1 11-5 in a thrilling 37-minutes quarter-final, enduring a slow start before ultimately overpowering the top seed. Six minutes into the opening game, the Englishman trailed heavily, losing the first ten points and eventually dropping the game 11-2, only narrowly avoiding a bagel with a precise return of serve winner. However, Nick rebounded in the second game, securing an early 4-1 lead and holding his nerve to take it 11-9. Game three saw a reversal of fortune; Nick Wall surged to a 10-0 advantage, with Dussourd only managing to save himself from a bagel before Wall closed it out. In the fourth game, Nick Wall maintained his momentum, sealing the match with an 11-5 win, leaving Dussourd unable to turn the tide.
In his opening match of the London Open, Nick defeated Mazen Gamal of Egypt 12-10 11-6 4-11 11-8 in 40 minutes.
