Hania El Hammamy and Ali Farag have been names PSA World Tour Players of the Month in recognition of their remarkable performances in for September.

World No.1 Ali Farag received an impressive 68% majority in the Player of the Month vote, conducted across Professional Squash Association (PSA) across their social media platforms. Farag's achievements included clinching victory at the Paris Squash 2023 and QTerminals Qatar Squash Classic, where he maintained an unblemished record thus far in the new season. His exceptional form culminated in a triumph over Diego Elias in the QTerminals Qatar Squash Classic final, marking his 18th victory out of 22 encounters with the World No.2 from Peru. Notably, Farag's journey to the title involved overcoming formidable countrymen Fares Dessouky and Tarek Momen in the second round and quarter-finals respectively, before a flawless performance against Welshman Joel Makin in the semi-finals. The final showdown saw Ali Farag prevailing over Diego Elias in four tightly contested games, cementing his status as a two-time title winner this season.

On the women's front, Hania El Hammamy garnered a well-deserved 46% share in the Women's Player of the Month vote. El Hammamy rebounded brilliantly from her third-round exit at the Paris Squash 2023 event, showing her resilience and skill to capture the QTerminals Qatar Squash Classic title. In a thrilling final, El Hammamy overcame the challenge of World No.1 Nour El Sherbini. Her path to victory included notable victories over England's top-ranked player Georgina Kennedy in four games and American No.1 Amanda Sobhy in three games. The crowning moment arrived in a gripping 84-minute, five-game battle against Nour El Sherbini, where Hania El Hammamy displayed her determination by rallying from a 2-1 deficit. The victory marked her first PSA World Tour title since the Hong Kong Squash Open in December.
