Iker Pajares Bernabeu reaches PSA El Gouna Squash International quarter-finals in Egypt

This year’s PSA El Gouna International proved to be a big one for Iker Pajares Bernabeu with the Spanish No.1 registering wins over Hungarian No.1 Balazs Farkas, Sébastien Bonmalais of France & Egypt’s former World Champion Tarek Momen before mixing it with World No.1 & top seed Diego Elias of Peru in the quarter-finals on the spectacular all-glass show court at the El Gouna Conference & Culture Center.
The Peruvian came through the heat & humidity in a tough 20-minute opening game before eventually earning a straight game victory & progress to his first semi-final appearance in El Gouna.

Following his sensational victory over former World Champion Tarek Momen of Egypt, Spanish No.1 Iker Pajares Bernabeu will face World No.1 & top seed Diego Elias of Peru in the quarter-finals of the PSA El Gouna International.
Iker Pajares Bernabeu produced the biggest upset of the PSA El Gouna Squash International with a 64-minute 8-11 11-8 11-8 11-8 victory over former World Champion Tarek Momen of Egypt.
The Spanish No.1 recovered from losing the opening game of his 3rd round match to overcome the seventh seeded Egyptian who had won their previous six meetings on the PSA World Tour.
“I knew it would be tough today. I’ve played Tarek so many times but today I felt different on court. I felt sharper & I saw his body language was gone & he was mentally very tired, so I kept fighting very hard & I managed to do it in four games. I still can’t believe it!” said the 3-time Spanish Champion.
Iker Pajares Bernabeu will face World No.1 & top seed Diego Elias of Peru in the quarter-finals which will be played on the all-glass show court situated at the El Gouna Conference & Culture Center at the Red Sea Resort in Egypt.

Spanish No.1 Iker Pajares Bernabeu produced another high-quality performance at the PSA El Gouna International to defeat the talented Frenchman Sébastien Bonmalais 11-8 11-9 11-2 in 48 minutes to progress to the last 16 of the PSA World Tour event being staged at the stunning Red Sea Resort in Egypt.

Iker Pajares Bernabeu defeated Hungarian No.1 Balazs Farkas 11-5 11-9 11-5 in 39 minutes on the opening day of the PSA El Gouna International being staged at the stunning Red Sea Resort in Egypt.
The 3-time Spanish Champion will face Sébastien Bonmalais of France in the 2nd round of the PSA El Gouna International after the Frenchman overcame #teamunsquashable player Todd Harrity 11-4 12-10 11-6.
Nick Wall, Lucas Serme & George Parker were all denied in straight games in the respective 1st round matches against Patrick Rooney, Aly Abou Eleinen & Raphael Kandra.

Nick Wall will be up against German No.1 Raphael Kandra, whilst George Parker will take on fellow Englishman Patrick Rooney in a repeat of their closely contested match at last week's PSA Manchester Open.
