James Willstrop wins 2024 PSA Harrogate Open

James Willstrop claimed his 23rd Professional Squash Association (PSA) title with a 29 minute 11-6 11-7 11-8 victory over fellow Englishman Bailey Malik to win the 2024 PSA Men's Harrogate Squash Open staged at the Harrogate Sports & Fitness Centre in England.

The former World No.1 started his campaign with a 25-minute 11-6 11-7 11-4 win over Gabriel Cox, followed by an equally clinical 11-7 11- 11-7 quarter-final victory over Lewis Doughty.

In the semi-finals the top speed overcame sixth seed Heston Malik 7-11 11-3 11-7 11-7 in 34 minutes before beating his twin brother Bailey Malik in the final.

Fellow UNSQUASHABLE player Will Salter was denied a place in the final by Bailey Malik who overcame the 2nd seen 11-4 5-11 9-11 11-3 11-8 in a hard-fought 86-minute semi-final.
