Moustafa El Sirty has been voted PSA Men’s Challenger Tour Player of the Year as part of the Professional Squash Association’s Annual Awards, with votes from squash enthusiasts from around the world combined with those made by the PSA Awards Committee – a group consisting of selected influential former players, members of the media & PSA Board representatives.
Moustafa received the prestigious award in recognition as being the player who best demonstrated supreme athletic performance & achievement during the season.
Since joining #teamunsquashable at the beginning of 2021, Moustafa has enjoyed almost unapparelled success, claiming a staggering nine PSA World titles in his first calendar year with the brand as well as reaching at least the quarter-finals in every tournament he played.
Starting the year at World No.83, Moustafa went on to end it & start 2022 inside the top 30 in the PSA World Rankings.
Moustafa started 2021 with a win at the Egyptian Challenger Tour #1, before then reaching the semi-finals of the Odense Open in Denmark, a qualifier for the PSA World Championships. That was followed with back-to-back wins on the CIB Egyptian Challenger Tour as well as a further final appearance. The young Egyptian then travelled to Europe, winning the Madeira International & the Heroes Graz Open in Austria. After reaching the quarter-finals of the CIB Egyptian Tour, Moustafa went on to finish the year with four consecutive victories which included two titles in Pakistan; the CAS International Championships & CNS international Championship. Moustafa then won the Capra Baerum Open in Norway before another victory came at the CIB Egyptian Challenger Tour 5.
