Iván Pérez reaches PSA Gradignan Squash Open 2023 quarter-finals

Iván Pérez battled for a full 79 minutes but was unable to progress beyond Brice Nicolas in the quarter-finals of the PSA Gradignan Squash Open 2023 at Squash Bad 33 in Gradignan, France. His latest win see Brice Nicolas continue his impressive journey through tournament and reach the semi-finals with an 11-7 11-8 8-11 11-9 victory.

Brice Nicolas had already left an indelible mark on the PSA World Tour event by defeating his fellow countrymen Titouan Isambard and Toufik Mekhalfi in the 1st and 2nd rounds respectively.

The Frenchman’s path to the final sees him play the experienced Egyptian player Mazen Gamal.

The opposing semi-final will feature No.3 seed Edwin Clain, who advanced by defeating Ammar Altamimi in a challenging three-game encounter, against top seed Curtis Malik of England who faced a stern test in his quarter-final match against local wild card Joshua Phinera, rallying from a game down to secure a four-game victory.

UNSQUASHABLE player Iván Pérez of Spain will today please Matthew Lai of Hong Kong in the 2nd round of the PSA Gradignan Squash Open 2023 being staged at Squash Bad 33 in Gradignan, France.

The fourth seeded Spaniard will face Matthew Lai after the Hong Kong player overcame UNSQUASHABLE player Will Salter of England 11-13 11-4 13-11 7-11 11-6 in a tense and gruelling 1st round match.

Canadian Brett Schille was also denied a place in the 2nd round of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour event after being beaten 11-3 11-5 11-4 by Ammar Altamimi of Kuwait.
