Simon Herbert wins PSA 3rd Silvester Squash Trophy in Switzerland

Simon Herbert claimed his biggest PSA World Tour title to date at the 3rd PSA Silvester Squash Trophy staged at the impressive Squash Arena Uster in Switzerland.

Seeded No.9, Simon Herbert started the tournament with a four-game victory over Switzerland’s David Bernet followed in the 2nd round with a hard-fought 56-minute 11-8 6-11 9-11 14-12 11-8 victory over 3rd seed Robin Gadola, also from Switzerland.

In the quarter-finals, the Englishman defeated Nilo Vidal of Spain 11-9 11-6 11-6 before prevailing over compatriot and fellow #teamunsquashable player Stuart MacGregor 11-8 12-10 7-11 5-11 11-4 in an exciting 46-minute five-game semi-final on the all-glass showcourt.

The final saw Simon Herbert up against Italian No.1 Yuri Furneti, another #teamunsquashable player, who he overcame 7-11 11-8 10-12 11-4 11-4 in another thrilling 5-game battle.
