OWAIN TAYLOR

Owain Taylor of Wales joined #teamunsquashable in 2023 having started his professional squash career in 2015 whilst studying at the University of Nottingham.

Winner of 2 Professional Squash Association (PSA) title

Born in Colchester, England, to two proud welsh parents he has gone on to represent Wales as a junior, winning multiple junior national titles and eventually transitioning into becoming a permanent fixture in the Welsh Men's National Team since making his senior debut in 2014. Owain has represented Wales at all major events, including European Team Championships, World Doubles Championships and most notably playing his part in the Bronze Medal Winning team at the 2019 Men’s World Team Championships in Washington D.C.

Alongside his commitments on the PSA World Tour, Owain is a familiar face around the UK league scene, playing at number one string in the Warwickshire, Yorkshire and the North-West Counties leagues, where he competes against some of the worlds leading players on a weekly basis.

Owain has claimed multiple PSA satellite titles and achieved his first PSA Challenger title at the 2023 501 Colin Payne Kent Open.

In March 2024, Owain reached the final at the Odense Squash Open, his biggest PSA World Tour final in his career to date, following a succession of fine wins, including a thrilling 94-minute 5-game semi-final victory over former World No.22 Moustafa Elsirty. However, despite another impressive and spirited performance in the final, Owain was eventually denied the title by England’s Declan James who claimed a hard-fought 75-minute victory on the all-glass show court at the Squash Center Danmark.

July 2024 saw Owain win the 2024 Berkhamsted Squash Open to claim his second and biggest career PSA title.
