Mohamed ElShorbagy wins 2025 PSA AirSprint Private Aviation Canadian Open

Former World No.1 and top seed Mohamed ElShorbagy defeated Mexican No.1 Leonel Cardenas 11-5 11-5 11-7 to win the AirSprint Private Aviation Canadian Squash Open at the Bow Valley Square venue in Calgary and collect his second his PSA World Squash Tour title of the 2024/25 squash season.
The English No.1’s dominant 36-minute victory saw the English No.1 win his 51st PSA Squash Tour title of his career and his first-ever tournament win Canadian.

UNSQUASHABLE player Yannick Wilhelmi of Switzerland was denied a place in the quarter-finals by compatriot and World No.20 Dimitri Steinmann following a tense five-game battle at the Bow Valley Square venue in Calgary. The two Swiss players contributed to the standout second-round match which proved to be a high-octane display of skill and athleticism, with Steinmann ultimately sealing a 73-minute 4-11 11-7 11-7 6-11 11-6 victory.

Ronald Palomino of Colombia made the most of his late entree into the 2025 PSA AirSprint Private Aviation Canadian Squash Open in Calgary with a scintillating performance that saw him defeat Canadia No.1 David Baillargeon 11-4 11-9 11-7 in 31 minutes on the all-glass court inside Bow Valley Square.
Despite playing in front of a partisan home crowd, Ronald Palomino controlled the match from the opening exchanges to secure a notable victory that will see the young Colombian progress to the 2nd round of Canada’s premier squash championships where he will face fellow UNSQUASHABLE player Nick Wall who received a bye in the 1st round.
Yannick Wilhelmi also recorded another notable 1st round victory, defeating Daniel Poleshchuk of Israel 11-6 11-4 6-11 11-7 in 50 minutes to face fellow Swiss Dimitri Steinmann.
