Iker Pajares Bernabeu is the leading player of an exciting new generation of up-and-coming young Spanish players emerging from the Barcelona Global Academy (BGS) under the stewardship of Victor Monserrat.

Since joining the PSA World Tour in 2013, Iker Pajares Bernabeu has gone on to establish himself as Spanish No.1 and leading Spanish playing in the PSA World Rankings.
Following five PSA Satellite tournament wins in 2015, Iker reached his first final on the PSA World Tour in 2016 at the PSA Seapiax Open Lorient and went on to claim his first PSA World Tour title later in the same year at the PSA City of Prague Open, beating Czech No.1 Jan Koukal 11-8 11-9 8-11 11-6 in his second PSA World Tour final.
Further PSA World Tour titles quickly followed at the Otters International JSW ISC and then at the PSA Malaysian Squash Tour VII.
In 2017, Iker Pajares Bernabeu won four more PSA World Tour titles at the PSA Seapiax Lorient Squash Open, PSA Jersey Squash Classic, PSA Barcelona Squash Open and the PSA Challenger Qatar Circuit No.5.
Victory at the 2018 PSA Florida Squash Open and the 2019 PSA Migdal Insurance PSA TelAviv Squash Open ensured the Spaniard entered the top 50 in the PSA World Rankings for the first time in his career. Continued progress and consistency in major events, in particular reaching the last 16 of the J.P. Morgan China Squash Open and third round of the PSA Windy City Squash Open in Chicago, saw Iker climb into the world’s top 30.
Iker Pajares Bernabeu was a key member of the Spanish team that finished in 8th at the 2019 WSF Men’s World Team Squash Championship in Washington, D.C., where Spain recorded its best ever result at the sport’s premiere team event and a third-place finish in the 2019 European Team Championships in England.
In 2021, Iker Pajares Bernabeu claimed his 10th PSA World Tour title, with a win at FES Spanish Open Ciudad de Palencia and continues to demonstrate a level of professionalism to match his talent which will undoubtedly see him continue to enjoy further future success on the PSA World Tour.
Iker started 2023 by winning his third Spanish National title in empathic style in Palencia.
The Spanish No.1, who was crowned Spanish Champion in 2020 & 2021 with wins over his great domestic rival Borja Golán, won his third title with a succession of impressive straight-game victories over Abel Martín, Adrian Garcia, Robertino Pezzota & Pascal Gómez who he defeated 11-0 11-3 11-5 in his 6th Spanish National final to collect a much deserved third national title.
In October 2023, Iker defeated Robertino Pezzota to win the Copa de España Squash 2023 at the Squash Santiago Club, and followed-up his Spanish domestic title the following month with victory at the Open International Niort Venise Verte in France, where he overcame fellow UNSQUASHABLE player Rory Stewart in the final to claim his 11th PSA World Tour title.
An 11-7 11-8 6-11 11-5 victory over Bernat Jaume saw Iker win his fourth Spanish National title in February 2024 in Santiago.
Iker won the Men’s Bronze Medal at the 2024 European Individual Squash Championships with an impressive 77 minute 11-7 13-11 3-11 13-11 victory over Swiss No.1 Nicolas Mueller to mark an encouraging start to the 2024-2025 squash season.
